IcePets is a virtual pet
site where you can play games, quests, and activities for hours of fun a
day. Pet Closet is a favorite feature on IcePets, where you can switch
back to past used pet color themes. Regular quality updates of new
features and improvements. With 15 virtual pet species to choose from,
hundreds of items to collect and enjoy, dozens of avatars hidden around
the site, you will see why IcePets is a great virtual world!

Status Update and User Feedback
Greetings, beloved and loyal Terrafrostians. Improvements to the site continue behind the scenes, and we're looking to hear feedback based on your user experience to help identify and prioritize what matters to you, the users, most.
News is slow right now because our focus is on quality of life updates that are often subtle or not visible. For example, everyone had to re-login recently due to a behind-the-scenes server change. Our immediate priority is to finish bringing the site over to the new code. Major features currently being addressed include Forums, Trades, and User Shops, with more to follow.
More generally, we're working to make the site more mobile-friendly, develop a strong new player experience, improve and incentivize daily play, address item availability and economy, and increase transparency of information.
Temporarily, the production cycle of new content has been put on hold (such as new Items, Pet Colours, Contests, Discovery Events) until we are happy with the state of older content. From there, expect the Mythical Novyn Statue Quest (site tutorial) and Plot to be among the first large reworks.
While we have a number of specific internal goals, we want to hear your perspectives. We want to prioritize changes you value, and catch any blind spots we may not have considered. Please respond below with whatever feedback and discussion you would like to offer! Areas of interest include
Mechanical
- Areas of the site you frequent the most and want to see modernized first
- Cumbersome components to features or interfaces that have already been modernized
- Niche quality of life issues you feel others might not notice
Balance and Economy
- Features that feel worthless or not worth the effort (we see you, Cube Grab)
- Quest request or reward concerns (value, probability, variety, etc.)
- Frustrating currencies, frustrating items
- Sources of flooded supply (that one feature giving you way too many of a certain item)
- Sources of scarcity (we aim to ensure old items will be consistently re-obtainable over time, so are looking for comments on currently obtainable items, such as the low drop rates of Cuddly Capsules and Muck - others of high concern?)
Gameplay
- Activities that keep you logging in, anything you would like to see more of
- Activities you actively dislike or avoid because they are unfun (in ways other than being low value or rewarding junk items)
- Seasonal events you like the most and/or least
- New player impressions
And anything else you feel impacts your day-to-day! This is an open discussion forum so please don't hesitate to engage with other's comments. We will take all feedback to heart and carefully assess the potential impacts of any changes. Please note that if balance changes are made to extremely rare/valuable items or difficult hidden avatars, we will make our best efforts to compensate players who have invested heavily in obtaining them. We want to reward long time players while welcoming new players in equal measure! And remember, News may be slow, but we will be hard at work untangling the wires that make IcePets run.
Notice - We will also be disabling the weekly news on Trophies and the Raffle (only the news, not the rewards), so that relevant news will remain the most visible.
